The kiosk now shows your current calendar year point balance, and it seems that your card level is based
on points earned in a calendar year rather than a rolling 12-month basis like the way comps are earned.

There is at least 1 NSUD triple play 10 coin $1 machine (pays full amount for Royals on 5-10 coins) in the high limit area. I didn't scout the area too thoroughly, but I found no mention of this machine in the data base. There may be more. There is also $1 NSUD single line slant tops in the Dino slots area against the wall. Not sure how many, but again I found no reference to these (or any $1 level NSUD for that matter) in the data base.

The 3-coin $100 machine in High Limits has NSUD, too. That's how high it goes. Peppermill is an NSUD casino.......most multi-game vp machines have NSUD, single-line, 3/5/10 play and 50-play.

JUL 2006

The following has been determined and veriified through several different means, from Peppermill published information, information from discussions with hosts and from tracking play and verifying point and comp accrual - Points at the Peppermill are $40 coin in/point for VP play and $25/point for slot play. The comp rate is .5% for VP play and .8% for slot play. I don't know the rates for table games and keno.

As for room comps - all event offers have the following text on them: "All complimentaries are based on casino play and will be posted to your comp account." This text is usually linked to the footnote mark that's next to the mention of the complimentary room nights for out-of-town guests. It's been my experience that the event itself is not charged to the comp account, but that the room stay during the event is. Coming into an event with complimentary room stay, though, does guarantee that you won't have to pay for the room even if you run your comp balance negative. Concert offers usually have the same footnote mark next to the mention of the concert tickets as well.

There are other coupons you can get for room stays that are not charged to your comp account. The periodic coupon mailer has such a coupon, and card swipes from the Peppermillions kiosk can also generate these coupons. It's possible that there are some offers (like "please come back we haven't seen you in a long time") that also have rooms that are not charged to comps.

In general room fees come out of your comp account at the Peppermill even when coming in on an offer. If you obtain a higher tier status, you get room upgrades for free, though. If you use a coupon for a room (as opposed to some other mailed offer) the room charge will not come off your comp account, but in this case your "energy surcharge" of about $3 won't be comped off either. Comp accrual seems to be at about .5% at the Peppermill, but I'm not certain.

AUG 2005

Many of the multiplays listed only reflect the paytables for the higher denominations on multidenominational games. For example on the 50plays, Super DB pays 8/5 for nickles and 9/5 for dimes or higher. On the ten plays you have to go to quarters for NSUD or else you get ugly deuces. On 50 plays again you get 9/6 DB for nickles and 9/7 for higher. There were other examples but I didn't write them down and the database to track them all would be enormous. I would just caution all to check the paytables for any multigame before playing.

JUL 2005

Atlantis and Peppermill slot clubs are both "don't ask don't tell" so, you never know but, roughly, atlantis comps about 1% and peppermill comps about 0.5%. atlantis banks comp about a year, peppermill likes to arbitrarily erase them, especially if you win or play 99%+ machines (the machines with the strictly slots magazine "certified loose" stickers). On banked comp at peppermill, they always use your last earned comp, meaning you probably will never get to used first earned comp before it is expired on you.

JUL 2005

2 spin poker , 1 spin poker deluxe by blue keno across from the 6 fp ddb, 2 spin poker 1 spin poker deluxe between blue keno & back door & 3 spin poker & 2 spin poker delux in same alcove as the FPDW all with NSUD & FPJOB AND 1 50 1 100ply at fish bar entrance/ 4 50ply 4 100ply at caberet bat. 2 100ply 2 50 ply between coffe shop & restrooms all with FPJOB & SDB at .01 .02 .05 .10 .25, think i might have missed a couple.

JUL 2005

Near the food court bar is a large bank of quarter TDB progressive uprights with reset of: 1-1-2-4-6-9-50-50-160-160-400-800-800.

JUN 2005

Peppermill: After I post a correction for the high-limit 10/6 DDB being on every other machine in the bank of 6 slant tops, now of course it's been changed so that all 6 of the $1/$2/$5 slant tops have 10/6 DDB.

MAY 2005

There are no $.05/$.10 FPDW on the slant tops near the Oceano door. Despite a report claiming there were.

I examined two banks of MG/MD machines that have the "Extreme Jackpot" glass on them, one a bank of 8 slant tops near the Fireside Lounge and Fish Bar, and the other bank of 6 slant tops by the blue keno lounge near the Steak House. These banks of machines have the 10/6/40 DDB game on them, progessive at the $1 level, but also at $.25 and $.50 without progressive. The bank near the blue keno lounge may or may not also be the one listed in the database as being near the Sportsbook (the keno lounges are near the Sportsbook). These two banks of machines include several games that should be listed in the database:

As noted, $.25/$.50/$1 10/6/40 DDB (progressive at $1 level). 99.96%
$.25/$.50/$1 16/11 Double Deuces 99.62%
$.25/$.50/$1 9/7 TDB 99.58%
$.25/$.50/$1 NSUD 99.73%

I think they also had 9/6 JoB, but that's so ubiquitous in the casino that I don't notice it on specific - location and game details are unknown.

There's also a bank of slant tops near the Fireside Lounge and Fish Bar that have $.25 Bonus Poker with a progressive on the royal, and 50000 coin sequential royal. This game is 99.63% at reset.

All machines at the Peppermill are TITO, so it needn't be listed as a specific note for some machines in the database.

In the NSUD section, it should be noted that the two banks of MG/MD slant tops near the Oceano doors have $1 25 coin NSUD, and one of those banks has $.25 25 coin NSUD (the other bank has the 10 coin FPDW at $.25).

Also - the $.05 10/7 DB Progressives by the rainbow bar are 10 coin machines, and the 10/6 DDB is not on all 6 slant tops in the high-limit area, it's on every other one (3 of the 6 $1/$2/$5 MG/MD slant tops).

MAY 2005

The NSUD: (4) 25c PROG (3 ways with 3% meter) near the sports book are MIA. A greedy "LA Team" moved in and killed them.

APR 2005

I could not find pick `em machines the database says are near the Blue Reno. We got down to the Qube bar where we play the most, 9 6 job in 25c and $1.00 and NSUD, double bonus is only 9/7, don't think there is any 10/7 left in the Casino. The machines had Bonus Poker at 99.1660, Bonus Poker Deluxe at 99.6417, Double Bonus Poker at 99.1065. Did find Spin Poker behind the Qube bar towards the buffet with, to the best of my knowledge and belief, 9/6 JOB and NSUD down to the penny level up to $1.00 I think.

APR 2005

The quarter NSUD 3-way progressive is 4 slant-top machines near the Sportsbook and steak house. Near that same area are 6 slant-top dollar full-pay 10/6/40 double double bonus with royal progressive. Other quarter deuces progressives in the casino are 16/13 short-pay. There are progressives spread all over the casino, most are junk, some are worth a look.

MAR 2005

In the database, there's a listing for $.05 progressive 10/7 DB. There are 3 MG/MD uprights near the rainbow bar (upstairs) with $.05 10 coin 10/7 DB progressive. This is a nice play for very low rollers or someone who wants to practice 10/7 DB w/o putting much at risk.

I stumbled across some 9/6 BP Dlx, not being familiar with the game I just made a note of the paytable to check later to see what it returned. It's a 99.64% game, so should probably be in the database. Unfortunately I didn't note denomination or location.

In the Super Times Pay machines I found (Multi denom, $.01-$10, triple to 10 play), they had 9/6 JoB, 10/6 DB, 9/6 DDB, Airport Deuces.

MAR 2005

All (12) of the FPDW machines are still at the Peppermill. There are 6 slant top multi-game/multi-dom machines at the entrance near Oceano with FPDW. The confusion might be that there are two banks of 6 machines; once has 25 coin NSUD in quarters and the other has 10 coin FPDW in quarters, but all the machines in each bank are the same. The ones in the alcove by the Fishbar are still alive and well too.

FEB 2005

The Peppermill Reno inventory lists as MIA 4 $1 10 coin 9/6 JoB progressive with $9400 reset. Those machines are not MIA, and are still there (they may have been shut down or changed briefly in December). In fact there are a lot more than the original 4 machines, I think at least 10 (if I recall correctly 6 uprights and 4 slant tops) now all located in the alcove near the fish bar.

The database lists $5 10/6 DDB progressive at the bar in the high-limit area, this game does not exist. Perhaps it did at one time, but I've not seen a game of this sort there in over a year. The only $5 progressive in the bar is the JoB.

There are tons of metered games throughout the casinos with decent meter rates on games like 8/5 BP and 9/6 DDB and Ugly Ducks (1/2/3/4/4/9/15/25) where the meters get into the well positive range, I don't know if you care to list games of this type in the database, but there are lots of good play opportunities at any given time in the $.25 and $1 limits, and above as well.

A note on the marketing/discretionary comps - it sounds like the person who wrote the note had a bad experience at the Peppermill, but their story is inconsistent with my experience. I've played nothing ever but positive plays at the Peppermill (some plays are progressives that are not positive at reset, but have always been positive when I've played them), and my bounceback, comps, and general treatment from the casino and my host have been constantly improving over time. Perhaps that will change at some point, but I'm really living on the good graces of the casino anyway if they are willing to offer me positive plays and throw other goodies my way because I choose to take advantage of them.

Perhaps the person with the comments had a personal axe to grind, or perhaps there is a real problem there. If you play in the high-limit area, for instance, it's hard to play a machine that's not "certified loose", and while the place does have bad plays at lower denominations, the casino doesn't seem to be in the constant "downgrade the pay tables" mode that many casinos seem to have fallen into lately. They've been adding new plays, not the least of which is the recent addition of the $.25 10 coin FPDW.

I don't know if you care about very high-limit machines in the database, but: In the high-limit slot section, there is a $25 3 coin 9/6 JoB progressive, and a $10 NSUD progressive.

9/6 JoB can be found in the high-limit area on machine with $1/$2/$5/$10/$25 denomination, including 3/5 play machines in $1/$2/$5/$10 at the bar (only one machine has the $10 denomination available). There's NSUD on the 3/5 play machines at the bar in $1/$2/$5 denominations.

Further clarification on the $1 10 coin JoB progressives, there are 6 uprights with the game, the meter resets at $9400, but short coining no longer gives full 4700 or even 4000 royal at 5 coins, short coin play gives 300x coin in for the royal. There are 5 slant top MG/MD machines that also share the $1 10 coin JoB progressive game, so there are a total of 11 machines that participate in that progressive.

FEB 2005

The cabaret bar (aka "the wierdo magnet") has .25 10 coin 9/6 JoB w/ progs on 4oK and up. Upgraded from the 5 coin 8/5 Job progs. For the low roller, these games also have 5-2 blackjack even at the .05 level!

JAN 2005

I can confirm the existence of all of the FPDW at the Pepp. They are MG/MD 25c 10 coin fast machines. I hit the ducks and walked away with a nice profit. Hit these folks while they still are around. Nobody was playing these when I was there on Tuesday - fat city. I also found 25c JOB in the spinpokers between the table games and the fancy restroom in the back.

JAN 2005

The Pepp also has 90 and 180 coin 1,2,5,25,50 cent spin and spin deluxe with NSUD and 6/9 JOB on them. Both banks of FPDW are quarter 10-coin machines that are full pay with 5 or more coins.

JAN 2005

I've noticed many changes recently in the poker product offered by both the Peppermill and Atlantis. Your product list for Peppermill is very outdated. You don't list the 12 .50 FP Deuces. One bank of 6 by the Oceano doors and the other tucked away in the back by the fireside bar. Also, I find that they have a very liberal variety of 10/7 progressive DB $1 one location is at the Bar by the Oceano. Another .25 FP DB progressive close to the h-l slot section which has FP DB $1 also. (More than I expected. Looks like they are turning back to cater to the locals?) I found a new bank by the bar with the big tree that has a cool multi level .25 and $1 progressive with deuces, JP, SDDB, BPD, JOB, They go positive on a regular basis and I think they have more games like that. Back by the fish bar they have two $.1 JP 7/18 paytable prog that are a positive play on a regular basis. The Pepp does not have pick-ems any more. It still says that they do on the site. For those with the bankroll, the high-limit area has a good mix of pokers.

What is going on at the Atlantis? The Atlantis is shorting many of their games. No FP games, and a lot of 5/8 and 6/9s. They are losing ground to the Pepp and it shows. Its too bad but its true.

DEC 2004

The 9/6 JoB $1, 10-coin Progressive (which are the same as $1, 9/6 JoB 4700 RF) are MIA. They have been replaced by new fancy pants machines, but I was unable to list the games nor paytables.

DEC 2004

Peppermill: 5-play Multi-Strike which had NSUD, SDB and 9/6 JoB are gone from former spot near main cashier(did not search casino for possible new location).

DEC 2004

Best I can tell, all of the .25 10/6 DDB multi-strikes listed in the database at the Peppermill have been downgraded to 9/6. I couldn't find the ones by the coffee shop but am assuming that they have been downgraded like the others.

OCT 2004

The machines at the high-limit bar do not all have the same pay tables. 9/6 JOB $5 prog is still there (I think on a bunch of machines). There is still $1,$2,$5 10/6 DDB but not on every machine at the bar. There is 10/7 DB at all 3 limits as well. There is a bank of machines with 10/7DB and 10/6 DDB in the high-limit area, but not at the bar. These are slant tops (I am not sure if these are linked to the $5 JOB). The NSUD $1 progressives in the alcove outside the fishbar frequently gets positive as well.

OCT 2004

All dollar 10/7 DB is history. Found a few five play multistrikes right in front of the cashier's cage which had full pay SDB at nickles, dimes and quarters. Also had FP JOB. The 5 Play Multi-Strikes also have 9/6 Bonus Dlx, NSUD, and Deuces Wild Bonus.

OCT 2004

I found (8) 10/7 DB $2 progressive bartops in the Oceano. The bar is located next to the restaurant with the large fish tank. I also found that since my last Reno vacation which was in June, the buffet at both the Peppermill and Atlantis casinos have gone somewhat down hill. The quality of the food and desserts aren't as good as it once was.

SEP 2004

Peppermill no longer has 10/7 DB on its multistrike games. They still have 10/7DB in 5 cent and 25 cent single play PROG.

SEP 2004

5-play Multistrike is also available at Peppermill. JB was full pay in quarters. I did not have time to check the other paytables.

AUG 2004

The (6) $1 10/7 DB progressives near the fishbar are now MIA - replaced with 9/6 DDB progressives.

AUG 2004

Peppermill has at least (3) 25c NSUD Prog. One is in the coffee shop alcove, one is between the change booth and the tables, and one is near the Sportsbook.

JUL 2004

Stayed at Peppermill last weekend, and posted my LONG trip report on that forum. Inventory change: .25 and .25/$1 10/6 DDB on the main floor MIA. [(6) $1/$2/$5 10/6 DDB still in high-limit (MG/MD TITOs)] . There are only 4 machines $1: 9/6 JoB 10-coin with a progressive that starts at $9400. I think you can play 5 coins on them for a 4700 coin fixed Royal.

JUN 2004

Peppermill 13-15 Jun, 20-24 Jun: I admit I am biased toward the Peppermill, as they have always been fairly generous in their marketing offers, even though we have been pretty low rollers.

Hotel: Check-in was no problem, again at 11am. We were in on a $35/night marketing offer. The room was a standard tower NS King on the 10th floor, this time facing south towards Mt Rose and, yes, the Atlantis. The rooms at the Peppermill are virtually the same as the first time I stayed there in 1998, and I think they are due for renovations, in particular, the bathrooms.

Casino: A few weeks prior to our trip, we had established a line of credit at the Peppermill. This was the first time we have done this. We did not want to carry around an additional $3K in cash or travelers checks, so we thought we would take the plunge. The first time at the cashiers cage we had to verify our information, but it all went very smoothly. From that point on, it was very easy to walk up, show our identification and Passport (players) card, and draw a marker for whatever amount we needed. We took $500 increments on a daily basis (when needed). At the end of each of the two stays, I paid back the outstanding markers with a combination of cash and a personal check. I also could have waited until I got home (up to 30 days past the initial marker draw) to pay them back. I highly recommend this approach if you are going to stay and play a significant amount at one property.

The Peppermill is well-known for its purplish neon plus track lighting against generally dark fixtures. It's either beautiful or gaudy, depending on your point of view. The casino is also designed well to disorient you, and it is very easy to get lost in it. Renovations over the last few months to accommodate the new seafood restaurant (Oceano) and associated video bar has expanded the play area in two ways: one, the floor space is slightly greater, but more significantly, the machine density has been reduced, giving the floor area a much more wide-open feel. Another nice change is that there are flat screen plasma TVs placed all over and in some elevators, that play music videos (a mix of mostly 80's, country, and classic RnR from what I remember seeing). Also the air- circulating system has apparently been significantly improved, as the casino was rarely smoke-filled in any area. However, there are a few areas where the air-conditioning is set way too cold, but they were working on it while we were there.

Once again, I set my sights on the Spinpoker machines, this time not so surprised to find that the pay tables aren't very good (9/6/5 DB and 15/9/4/4 Ducks). Meanwhile, Chris seeks out her favorite Video slots (Enchanted Unicorn). This trend continued throughout both of our stays.

Cocktail service is extremely good at the Peppermill. It might be because Chris and I will each tip a dollar every time we get a drink. The waitresses really seem to appreciate it, and often will give us a better label of wine than the house chardonnay.

Gambling Anecdote: On Spin DB, I was dealt a full house, Aces over 7's. I hate that!!! I discarded the 7's, hoping to see the fourth Ace pop up. Thankfully, it did. In the middle card of the middle reel, which gave me 5 lines of 4 Aces (I don't hate that!) for a $210 jackpot.

Restaurants: Coffee Shop: Nothing like fake plants and lots of green neon lighted fuzzy upholstery with track lighting to start your day. It's one of my favorite places. Servings are always generous and consistent. If you are there during graveyard shift, ask for Harold to be your waiter. He is 76, and very witty and efficient. Recommended

Island Buffet: There is always a long line at dinner time for the Buffet, and now I remember why. The variety and quality of the buffet is in a league of its own. I can't think of anything I ate there that I did not enjoy. We had three meals there, one at each time of day, and they were all outstanding. Highly recommended!

One humorous note (to us anyway): One evening, when we were getting hungry, we saw the huge line waiting to get into the Buffet and then checked our Passport point balance. 1996 points - just four point away from the exalted "Gold" status. We calmly went to a machine and played for about ten minutes, then returned to the Slot Booth, where we now have over 2,000 points! They then printed new Gold cards for us, which also acts as a line pass for the buffet. So there we go to the head of the line.

Oceano: Where else but the Peppermill can you dine in a restaurant with lots of green, blue and turquoise neon, mirrors, and ceiling light fixtures that are made of giant hanging plastic squids and jellyfish? And be able to say that the décor is appropriate for a nice upscale dining experience? We dined here twice, both times for lunch, so I cannot attest to some of the larger entrees, but I did have their sampling of soups (two chowders and a lobster bisque) one day that were very good, and the Pacifica Sandwich (VERY fresh Dungeness crab and rock shrimp in mayo on grilled sourdough) was outstanding. Highly recommend!

Steak House: Definitely need reservations for this place. We weren't starving, so we decided to split a 12-oz prime rib. What we ended up with, had to have been two separate 8-10 oz. servings, plus individual sides, and we were only charged a split plate charge of $5.99. Very tasty, and an excellent value. Prices seemed about right for a nice steakhouse, and their wine and dessert lists were extensive. One note, we had asked for non-smoking, but it appeared that there were not separate sections in the restaurant. Still, it was not a nuisance. Service was quick and excellent. Highly Recommend.

Romanza: This is the Italian restaurant that we dine in every year for our Anniversary (which was the last night of our trip). I am not sure whether reservations are really needed except maybe on the weekend. Once again, the servings are generous, tasty and the prices are, I think, appropriate for the experience. I had a veal scallopini, and Chris had a garlic fettucini dish and they were both wonderful. We were also given an anniversary cake for dessert, which was delicious and so huge that after we each had a piece, there was enough for us to take the leftovers in a box, which we enjoyed at the airport the next day while waiting for our flight to depart. Recommended

Fireside Lounge: A very nice place to get away from the bright neon and noises of the casino and relax in warm sultry tones of not-so- bright red and pink neons in an intimate environment. Flat screen TVs on all of the walls play music videos here as well. The neat part is that it is surrounded by the casino and the Coffee Shop, but you don't notice any of that. Drinks are pricey but it is well worth it especially if you are dressed up just before or after a nice dinner. Free appetizers are offered during Happy Hour. Highly recommended, even if all you do is walk through it to capture the ambiance.

Comps: Upon checkout from the first Peppermill stay, I stopped in to the VIP lounge to see a casino host. The slot boothlings, while generally inconsistent with their knowledge (like every other casino in which I have ever played), have always recommended to charge everything to your room. Then upon checkout, see what can be comped. Kevin, the host I spoke to, reviewed our play (~$16K coin-in for a 2- night visit) and immediately comped the room and all of the room charges. He also comped the first two nights of the upcoming second visit and suggested that when we have enough point to reach the "Gold" level that we should come back and have a host assigned to us. If anyone is interested, I can explain the levels at the Peppermill. Comp value for the first visit was $164, and our net loss for this first visit: $348.

When we returned for the second stay, we used the VIP check-in, and for a third time, were able to check in (again, a standard tower King, this time on the 8th floor) during the morning of our arrival. Once we achieved our Gold status, we stopped in again, and were assigned Kevin Brantner, the same host we had talked to on our first visit. Kevin again reviewed our play and comped our stay and room charges up to that point. At the end of the stay, all of our charges ended up being comped once again. (Net loss for the second visit: $1260 -- Coin-in: $25K -- comp value $380) I had a few opportunies to contact Kevin during our stay, and in every case he was paged, and returned the page within a minute each time. We also had bought tickets to the Reno Rodeo and Kevin was very good about providing us with passes to the shuttle that had been arranged for invited guests, saving us the hassle and costs of driving and paying for parking, as it was sold out that night. So far, I am very impressed with Kevin.

Both the Atlantis and Peppermill are somewhat secretive about their comp club formula. For the mix of games we played, it appears that the point formula is about $20 coin-in = 1 point, at least at the Peppermill. I don't know how points are translated into nondiscretionary comps.

Comparisons between Atlantis and Peppermill -- here is my admittedly biased opinion of which is better:

Rooms: Atlantis
Casino Environment: Peppermill
Casino Gaming: Atlantis
Coffee Shop: Peppermill
Buffet: Peppermill
Seafood Restaurant: Atlantis (for now)
Comps: Peppermill

JUN 2004

I visited the Peppermill daily between June 10th and June 15th. I could not locate any 1, 2, or 5 dollar 10/7 Double Bonus progressive machines at any of the bars. The ones I did locate were all 9/7. I did find (6) $1 10/7 Double Bonus Progressives outside the Fish Bar.

JUN 2004

The 10/7 $1 DB are no longer on the main sections of the casino. They are now in IGT multiplay games in the high-limit Section ONLY.

MAY 2004

I looked on a couple bartops at the Peppermill high-limit area. No sign of $5 10/6 DDB Progressive. 10/6 DDB,yes, but no prog. I didn't check them all, so I canNOT say they're MIA. But might be a good thing for the next visitor to check.

MAR 2004

The Peppermill is as reported except we can't find any .25 full pay joker anywhere. No deuces or joker anywhere in the casino. Lots of 10/7 db from .25 thru 5.00. 10/6 ddb from .25 thru 2.00.

MAR 2004

OK! finally got to check out the heralded Pepp VP Early March, 4 nights. First: Peppermill - nice room (comped corner suite), nice host (Chris - see vpfree casino database link) and relaxing, "good enough" music. Lot of Frank Sinatra and country, but it fit the mood of the place. I ate at the Steak House - good food, first class service. Decor was neon everywhere, and TVs everywhere too.

Poker room looked comfy, 4 or more tables open at peak hours. But the incessant PA break-ins to the music became annoying: "Mitch, your 2-4 hold'em seat is avaialble, last call, Mitch!" "Clem, 20-40 hold'em seat is open, Clem."

But - the VP- well, let me say that this joint is 10/6 Dbl Dbl Bonus Mecca. You have to check every dang Gamemaker paytable at every denom on the machine, but there are plenty of these machines. Slant-tops, big screen, big cards, fast. over 100% return. These Gamemakers had 10/6 DDB: (4) @ .25 between Main cashier & Fireside lounge (2) @ $1 near Romanzo restaurant (multi denoms - MAY have had .50 & .25 also?) (2) (& probably more) @ $1/$2/$5 in high-limit area Also, the Multistrikes still had 10/6 DDB on them - 4 slant tops still near cabaret stage and (2 or 4) uprights near "back of the buffet line" elevators. .05/.10/.25 denoms. I found a "full pay" Nevada Bonus @ .25. I found NO full pay Kings or better Joker at $.25 nor at $1 (?) And no full-pay deuces. NSUD were somewhat common, at .25 & $1 I think.

I found the 10-coin $1's 9/6 JoB with the Progressive Royal, which a lady hit while I was nearby for $10,500. It re-set at $9,400. Behind it is a fun bank of $1 Bonus with progs on the Quad A's, SF and Royal. The SF never got above $300 before being hit and the Quad A's never got to $500 before being hit while I was there. These are old machines, kind of slow, with annoying coin payoffs. Handpays were automatic at 400, but maybe even anything over 200, I never figured it out.

I guess my only revealing find was the $2/$5 10/6 DDB in the high-limit area. Sorry if the local "pro's" were hiding these, but I never saw anyone playing them the whole time I was there except me. Maybe 100.07% isn't "worthy", Peppermill not offering any Cashback.

Quick comparison of Peppermill and Silver Legacy

Pepp: plusses: Brighter, 10/6DDB at all levels, hotel room a little nicer, poker room available, much better employee attitude, bigger place, didn't feel quite as crowded. More TITO's. some FP games on the Multistrikes.

negatives: seemed less secure: lotsa dreggy people "hanging around"; no visible security presence on the floor. no FPDW.

Silver: plusses: those new .25 FPDW Progs. some good promotions, .25 FPJW, a little classier joint with good security.

negatives: a lttle stuffier, not much FP above .25 (but 4 -10/7 DB progs still there) . Older beat up VP machines, slow to change to TITO.

BOTH places: good hosts, great food, clean, lots of VP, a comping competition for business -Play it!

MAR 2004

The $1 FPDW at Western Village have been downgraded to NSUD. Peppermill has $5 10/7 DB in the high-limit area.

JAN 2004

Reno peppermill dollar full pay joker downgraded to two pair or better 20/10/6/5. For dollar deuces they now offer nsu and triple deuces. Triple deuces are full pay there's a bunch all over the casino, new igt multigames, slant tops and uprights, i think all the dollar deuces flat tops are either nsu or triple deuces they seem to be standardizing on 10/7 double bonus, nsu or triple deuces, and 20/10/6/5 joker 2 pair or better (and of course 9/6 jacks)

JAN 2004

I gave them about 80,000 coin in over the 3 day weekend. They comped a suite for all 3 nights, 2 $40 lunches for two at their coffee shop, and a Sunday brunch for two ($34 retail). They said they couldn't help with 2 dinners at their steakhouse. I played about 70% $JW and 30% .25 Deuces Multistrike.

JAN 2004

Trip last week I found following full pay: Peppermill - $2 Double Bonus Progressives in Fish bar - $1 Double Double Bonus (10 full house) on Slant top Game Kings outside Romanza restaurant.

DEC 2003

I have been told by the boothlings that comps expire 12 or 13 month after you earn them. They use a revolving period to calculated comp balance.

NOV 2003

BTW, the Peppermill slot club is absolutely worthless, with a "don't ask/don't tell" system where you not only can't find out how many points you need for dinner, say, but you can't even find out how many points you HAVE. My lone experience is being denied a coffee shop comp for two after playing four hours of .25 triple-play.

NOV 2003

I did find the 8 multistrikes with FPDW and FPJW, but the locations are now: 2 uprights: Just inside right hand entrance doors off south side parking lot. 2 slanttops: In hallway outside coffee shop (across from nickle 10/7 DB progressives.) 4 slanttops: 2 each at each end of the Cabaret Bar.

OCT 2003

$1 10/7/80 are removed.
