*** MIA - MAY 2005 ***25c/50c/$1 MG/MD NSUD bartops. *** MIA - MAY 2005 ***25c/50c/$1 MG/MD 9/6 JoB bartops. We were at the Westin this week; I can confirm that most of your info on their casino is current. From our figures it looks like the comp dollars accrue at about 0.5%: Me: 1048 points ($10480 action), $53.20 (0.5081%) My wife: 325 points ($3250 action), $16.20 (0.4985%) The quarter games are very consistent: NSUD, 9/6 JoB, 7/5 BP. 9/6 DB, and others. But the dollar games are better at the bartops than on the floor. Some of the nickel games are the same as for quarters (NSUD, 9/6 DB) but others are shorter (8/5 JoB, a weird version of Joker where a royal pays only 100-1 and the big hand is five of a kind). Again, each nickel machine is pretty much the same. They don't have better and worse machines of the same type and denomination intermingled like many places do. The multi-line games are a disaster, as is their one Multi-Strike game. 25c MG/MD 20/10/6 JW2 slant-tops scattered around casino. *** MIA - FEB 2005 *** 25c/50c MG/MD 20/10/6 JW2 bartops. *** MIA - FEB 2005 *** 25c (3 Play) 9/7 DB. *** MIA - FEB 2005 *** $1 MG/MD 9/7 DB. This is a classy, quiet little casino. Best games are $1 2-pair Jokers Wild at the bar and NSUD in 5c/10c/25c on the floor and 25c/50c/$1 at the bar. Maybe I missed them, but I couldn't locate any 25c/50c 2-pair JW. Westin has 25c/50c/$1 (99.9%) JW2 and 25c 9/6 DDB PROG. We finally got around to signing up at the "WC", and the sign-up promo has been improved. Each new slot club member can now purchase $60 of freeplay for $30. The freeplay is good at the bartops that have 9/6 jacks and NSUD in 25c/50c/$1. I also noticed a rarity: their MG/MD slant-tops in the middle of the casino (there are only about 30 VP machines in the entire joint; you'll find 'em) have NSUD (99.7%) in nickels. For what it's worth, one of the more pleasant playing environments in town. There are .25 9/6 JOB scattered around the casino, not just at the bartop. Comp dollars were accumulating at appx 0.44%, not the 0.25% listed. Free play is still 0.5%. $0.25 9/6 JB on all bartops I checked. Donna ( extension 6042) says that the monthly mailers continue for one year once you are qualified, even without additional play. They base it on Theoretical loss. Also based on daily average. $480 in theo loss (per day) earns $100 per month in free play. Sounds like 0.4% for a 98% game. $2 MG/MD NSUD. It looks like the Westin has lowered their cashback and probably their comp rate. It now takes $10 = 1 point which is .5% cashback. Probably means comp rate has also been lowered from .33 to .25% The $2 NSUD are MIA. Just got back from LV and stopped by the Westin to do the new sign up free play thing. We found 4 MG/MD with 9/6 jacks and NSUD in the .25 level. It took $7.50 to earn a point and we got $10 free play, and a $5 comp for 200 points ($1500 coin in) for a CB rate (if you count free play as cashback) of .67%, and a comp rate of .33%. They had a promo going where you got a nice sweat shirt for 200 points and no points deducted, so we played $1500 through and got $10 FP for new sign up, $10 FP, a shirt for 200, and a $5 Gift shop voucher for 200 points. I stopped by Westin Casaurina today because my friend from out of town wanted to buy David Brenner tickets. While there, I joined the slot club. I did not check out the whole place but the MG/MD machines did have .25 NSUD. Your database only shows them at $2. They may have it at other denominations too. but I didn't think to check. I was only looking to play my free $10. I tried asking the boothling for information on slot club points, but she was clueless. New Casuarina Players Club members get $10 in free play and can earn an additional $10 with $2,000 of coin-in ($1000 for slots). The Westin is a vp wasteland. The "best" game is quarter 3p 9/7 Double Bonus. There are some 9/5 JoB in dollars. Otherwise, they basically offer 6/5 Bonus and 6/5 JoB in various denominations. There is no cashback, just comps, although Star Points can be used at other Westin properties. All machines rate points differently (the 3p earned 1 point for every $3.75). Currently, earn 150 points and get a free T-Shirt. New card sign-ups get $10 in free play (must make the first bet and then the free play comes back as a bonus.) I played the 3p 9/7 DB for my freeplay and was dealt quad jacks so I walked away up a bit; nice to have a pleasant experience there since I probably wont go back. The property renovation itself is nice; rather art deco, lots of marble and wood. There's a comfy bar in the middle of the casino with chairs and couches around it. The cafe looked interesting (cool fixtures), but I didn't eat there (not sure if it was even open yet). |
