| In Artillery the player attempts to
fire a shell from his tank into the enemy. He is limited to a sysop
configurable number of shots per day, so he must use skill to accurately
set muzzle velocity and firing angle to drop the shell precisely on the
enemy.
The enemy may be hidden under trees
or behind a wall so the player will either have to blast through the
obstructions (which takes repeated shots) or be accurate in his firing.
The game uses the classical physics of a projectile to calculate the path
of the shot in real time.
I always got a kick out of
that old Basic game (gorilla?) where King Kong throws a banana over
buildings to squash a target on the other side, so Artillery was written.
The game will reset when a player
reaches the sysop's selected number of kills, and a winner's banner is
displayed as each player enters the game.
Artillery is multinode aware, has
sysop chat, carrier detect, and no maintenance. Simple to set up on nearly
any type of BBS. Supports many drop file types such as door.sys,
dorinfox.def, etc.
The current version is 16-bit only.
