Charleston WV Ride
July 2005
Parts of Hwy 114.
More of Hwy 114.
West Virginia's minor highways are laid better than Hampton Roads major highways (this is I-79). It was a pleasure to ride on a highway that isn't reminescent of I-264 in Virginia Beach, which seems to set the standard for road illness in Hampton Roads.
Summersville Lake, part of the "scenic route".
Figuring out how we found the "scenic route".
The forest just beyond the scenic overlook.
More overlook thru the forest.
Karen posing in front of the lake.
Where "Bubbie Hole" is (down there just in the foreground of the trees). It may be only a mile and a half hike downhill, its the "uphill" hike that's the killer..
On Hwy 60 North.
Arts, Crafts and Country store.
Unknown waterfall on Hwy 60.
Karen and the waterfall.
A small hydro-electric plant along Hwy 60, official title is Kanawa Falls.
Scenic overlook on Hwy 19 South. The mountain was blasted in sections to make way for the highway.
Karen looking all hot and modelish ...
Who else??
Layers in the rock formation.
