4/29/2006 Rim Ride with Friends and Family
5/13/2006 (224) Pine Mountain, Tony Rides! Glenn Crashes !
New riding buddies Kip and Adeline decided to join us for a ride up on the Rim. Kip got him a sweet trailer for the ATVs and 2 fine Honda 4x4 Ranchers.

As usual we started our ride on the Pivot Rock side with some beautiful forest areas.
No ride in this area would be complete without one trip to Clearwater Creek Canyon and a lookie see over the side or the Mogollon Rim.
A Picture of me !
Nothing like the forest up on the Rim, the altitude is just right . As you can almost see we picked up another vehicle in our little caravan. In the back of the picture you can see one of those golf cart things. LOL Actually it’s a pretty cool Yamaha 4x4. They were in search of the Rim and we told them to drop in the pack and we would lead them to it. So far I have only met great folks out ATVing.
Connie couldn’t join us today so I thought I would take my oldest son Tony for his first ATV adventure. This will be a good day since it will be a shorter and closer ride than normal. That’s him trying to look cool. Wait until he sees how dorky it looks !!!!!
We had really nice riding weather and this was a good area to take a 1st timer. We had enough time to show Tony the secret camping area and the pyramid rock that guards the entrance.
(right) I’m not real sure what this was. These looked like giant spider webs but in fact they were more like bags. I never seen a cocoon this big but they were full of caterpillars???
It’s a good thing we all had radio helmets. Glenn gave the rider down call and we were able to respond immediately. Just finding him with no radio could have been a problem. Glenn went over the edge and down the side. His ATV came to rest about 50 feet from the road (it could have been a lot worse). Luckily he was able to get it started to assist the other ATVs in pulling him back up to the road. We were close to not having enough total HP.
Physically Glenn was OK but WE wounded him mentally for the crash!
