8/05/2006 The Poor Farm !
7/22/2006 Clints Well
After a few hours we picked up and moved up Lake Mary Rd about 10 miles.
Now this looks better !
We kept hearing Clints Well,,, Blah Blah Blah. My opinion is that Clints Well was not all that good and even boring.
(Below) Look at the ELK !
It was raining off and on, as you can see the roads are a bit mucky with red-ish looking clay. This is a great area with thick forest and large open spaces. We will come back to look it over more closely.
I’ll bet the carwash guy is a bit mad ! --->
After studying the Clints Well mis-adventure we decided that we hit the jackpot. From this area we could get around to the back side of Clover Canyon (Clear Creek). Using the same exploring technique that we used at Pivot Rock we will explore all roads going into or up to the canyon.
Law of Physics “ Old cars attract bullets”
Spectacular Views ! After several approaches to the canyon we found the optimum location. The location just as it happens to be exactly opposite the optimum location on the other side of the canyon at Pivot Rock ! This is also the trailhead to the tramway trail. This location has a steel cable run down the side of the canyon that will give you something to hold on to as you hike down (So they say).
(Below)It’s always exciting taking Glenn to dangerous environments. Someday when the officials ask “how did this happen”? I’ll respond by saying “how do you think it happened” ? LOL
This is a great place to ride and just chill. This area has many miles of smooth roads, wildlife, canyon views, open areas and dense forest. We will be back !
