11/18/2006 Ellison Creek
Ellison Creek, I don’t know why. I was just looking at a map and found a pocket of area that I hadn’t explored. I had been close to this area and all around it, but not at Ellison Creek.
It was a nice ride (below the Rim) at about 5,000 feet. The temperature was pleasant and we still had some fall colors going on.
We found the creek and a real nice place to have lunch. Interesting sign !!!! Maybe it wasn’t a good place to have lunch ?? My 2 friends Smith and Wesson told me to eat wherever I want to.
(above) I keep telling her even a Polaris has it’s limitations.
I remember when it would creep me out to go deep into the woods. Thanks to my ATVs I feel "1" with nature. (I also carry a 357, a 45 and use 2 GPS units,,, just in case)
(below)Some of the trails/forest roads were great. The one shown was like a rollercoaster, it would turn and go up, run level, go up turn, down etc. all in nice dense forest. I was loving it !
Some of the main roads in this area are well traveled and smooth. It’s nice to cruse along sometimes at a higher speed but watch those Elk ! We loaded just as it got dark, another great ride !
