Backup systems are only achievable through the construction of a second, parallel line, which is likely cost-prohibitive. However, the Water Bullet system is not designed for on-demand transport. Rather, the design purpose is for long-term sustainaible material transport. If the system is down for 10% of the time for maintenance, repairs, etc., no product will spoil; no immediate demands cannot be met. Therefore, backup systems are not of great concern.<p>

Anticipate repairs include replacement of material canisters, cleaning of carrier pipe, identification and fixing of vacuum leaks, maintenance and repair of vacuum pumps, and regular electrical track replacement.<p>
