With digital photos it seems I am always needing a photo editor software to do simple things with the photos. Of course you can spend hundreds of dollars to get photo editing software, but there is an alternative. A very good alternative, The Gimp. What? The Gimp is an image manipulation program that is licensed under the General Public License (GPL) which means you can legally get it for free. Check out their website at www.gimp.org. Well, the software is very powerful, and kind of intimidating for us casual users, so I thought I would write an introductory guide on how to use it to do simple things that most, non-graphical artist like to do. This tutorial was done with The Gimp version 1.2.4 running on WindowsXP. Table of Contents: Learn more through other tutorials, find them at: |
