Another acquaintance saw the painting of the German
Shepherd that
I had
painted previously, and commissioned me to do a
painting
of his two pit bulls.
Sara Bell was not alive at the time of the painting, but
Spike
was. I worked
primarily from photos, putting my own desert background
idea in
as a backdrop
for the dogs, who were really "desert dogs".
