Race results with in 2 days?  Wow, I’ve never provided them this fast.

I think everyone had a good time…..the weather co-operated and we had a GREAT turnout.  Ten racers showed up early for practice.  Racing started nearly an hour early.  Seems everyone was ready to burn some rubber.  Four races, ten pounds of meatballs later, the results were in.  Despite a few damaged trees and 4 cars hitting the floor during practice, the racing was very good.  There were several ties and only a few splinters.

Rob set the tone early and often as he “podium” in 3 of the 4 races.  He said he wanted a plaque and by golly he got three of them.  Way to go Rob.  Kind of explains why he wasn’t answering his e-mail this past week (he was practicing).

Glen had a super evening taking 3rd in the point’s race.  Ron tied Big John for the same number of laps in the first race of the evening.  Despite losing the tie breaker by half a lap (or “200 T” if measured by trees), Ron was very pleased to give John a run for his money on his own track. Rob “the concentrator” was one lap back for third.

Notes:

Number of broken guide pins by John = 0!

Mike had to go to a back-up after Mark's rent-a-racer BROKE A GUIDE PIN!

In the GTX, “the concentrator” was out for blood.  He cleaned house by winning out right by one lap (or “400 T” if measured by trees…i.e. the number of trees you want to miss in order to go around a whole lap).  Mark was silently driving this little green pickup to second place, hoping know one would notice his racing skills (or his long hair) as he slipped in for second.  Racers 1-7 were with in 7 laps of each other (or “2800 T” if measured by trees).  All total top to bottom, only 13 laps separated everyone.  I think everyone is starting to like this series.  Rob, Keith and Keven were driving G3’s while everyone else used G-Jets. All the cars had black tires except for one. This had a huge impact on the standings. J   (You know white tires show more dirt, while black ones don’t, so the black ones don’t need cleaned as much. Right?)

It was nice to see Keith again who picked up two respectable 5th place finishes for the evening.  Not bad for racing once or twice a year.  Thanks for coming sir!

John wasn’t being very sociable this evening as he beat Brent by one lap in the GT-40 IROC race.  Weren’t those cars pretty?  With the exception of the Blue car making weird noises and bouncing down the track the cars seemed to run fine.  Only 9 laps separated 1st through 10th.  Six racers were with in 4 laps of each other.  Very close racing indeed!
