Members:
Gerald
Epperson: The
Percussion Myster… From the
beginning, Gerald’s environment has pulsed with the rhythmic textures produced
by his father, for thirty plus years being timpanist for the Tulsa Philharmonic,
and the influence of his mother, who has a degree in music and is also a
musician. Primarily the percussionist for EOW,
Gerald is also one of our major composers.
Choctaw
Ortega: Mark’s
father provided him the early opportunity to share exploration of the Spinet
piano and the Hammond organ, up to and including, (in Mark’s case), marking
the piano bench with two-year old teeth! Mark
is also enamored with the guitar and sneaks off to it or the bass frequently.
Mark is instrumental in the spatial sounds and effects and is the
technical engineer for all of EOW's
and Wiener Hill’s
projects.
Among his peers, Mark is known for his uncanny engineering abilities and his
performance prowess.
Chris
Williams: He started piano lessons at the age of six
(also known for knawing on the piano arms as an infant) and
included other brass instruments through the age of 17.
In his teen years he began incorporating the study of the guitar as well as the
intense study of composing and arranging throughout the years. Chris
is principal sound technician for EOW.
He
credits his Cherokee Native American heritage with helping him to add a
distinctive edge to the musical voyages of the group.
Chris is best
described as the “Mix-Myster”, not only composing, but arranging the
creations of
EOW.
*All
three, Epperson, Ortega, and Williams, as a whole, complete the circle of
writing, arranging and composing the sound that is
EOW.

Essential
Theme Park
"Essential
Theme Park"
demonstrates a variety of styles,
instruments, and techniques that mimic an experience you might have at your own
state fair. It's like walking down a carnival's main walkway, where you
can almost smell the vendors' food wares, hear the barkers tempting you, and see
the ride attendants selling tickets. As the tracks progress, it will take you to the point of exhilaration and bring
you back to full comfort by way of tempo, rhythm, and sonic resonance.
