Calendar of Events

General membership meetings of the alliance have been scheduled for four Sunday afternoons during the year at different locations in order to provide members with the opportunity to become better acquainted with historic places in and around Wichita and Sedgwick County.

Friday & Saturday, Dec. 4 & 5, 2009, Ft. Hayes: Discover a Victorian Christmas at this frontier fort. This marks the 38th year for this popular holiday open house. For information: 785-625-6812

December 1-31, 2009, Abilene: Seelye Mansion Christmas Tours. The charming 1905 Georgian Mansion’s 25 rooms are filled with Christmas trees, poinsettias, nutcrackers and colorful decorations. For more information: 785-263-1084

December 4-5 & 11-12, 5-9 p.m., 2009, Old Cowtown Museum: A Victorian Christmas. Four special evenings of Currier and Ives type holiday come alive. The entire 25 acre site is trimmed with greenery as the museum welcomes guests into our 1870s homes to learn traditions of Christmas past. For more information: (316) 219-1871
