Notes for Martha Ellen "Mattie" HOUSTON: 11/05/1995 In a family record obtained from the Gribble's in Oklahoma, Martha Mitchell is listed as dying in Colorado in 1922. 06/18/1997 1880 census, Dallas County, does not show Martha Houston living with her parents. She was not married to Thomas Mabra until January of 1881. 1900 census, Dallas County, ED 138, enumerated on 15 June, 1900: Mattie Capps - May 1868 - widow - (should be May 1862) Clarence L. Capps - Feb 1891 - male Cleveland Mabry - Oct 1886 - male Jennie A. Mabry - Oct 1888 - female Deloral Mitchell - Jun 1878 - from NC - hired help 06/26/1997 Dallas County Marriage Records: Mattie Houston married Thomas Mabra Jan. 30, 1881, by A.D. Gaskill. 10/29/2000 There is a picture in my file, undated, showing an elderly lady holding a baby in a dress. On the back Mary, my mother has written "Martha Houston & Mary (Pearson). Since my mother was born in Feb, 1916, Martha had to be around Texas that year.

He married Myrtle (Capps). She was born 1896 in Iowa13. Notes for Clarence L. CAPPS: 09/13/1999 In searching the SSDI there were 36 Clarence Capps, but none born Feb. 1891. The census record of 1900 Dallas County, shows he was born Feb. 1891. There was a CLARENCE CAPPS, born 23 Feb 1889, and died Jan 1970 in 92316 (Colton, San Bernardino, CA), and SS#446-16-0964 was issued in Oklahoma (Before 1951). He listed his birth day as Feb. 23, 1889, when he was actually born 23 Feb 1891, two years later. 11/16/1999 Received from the SS Application a copy of Clarence Capps and it is our Clarence. He lists his mother's name as Martha Ellon Houston, and his father as Robert D. Capps. It was issued in Guymon, OK in 1942. Why was he in Guymon?
