A WESTERN DREAM
"A WESTERN DREAM"
* * *
I'm driving o'er our western land, beneath her spacious skies;
around a span of mountains grand, where all the wonder lies.
I did not go by aeroplane because I wished to see:
all the things that nature brings.. in all their beauty be.
* * *
Just like a child's first trip to town, I'm struck with rapturous glee;
I come amazed as out I gaze at miracles I see.
Oh, how the mighty mountains rise.. stretched out across the range,
I view the brilliance of their size beyond the sprawling plains.
Now looking there across the way, I feel my freedom rise,
and in my heart the joy-strings play of scenes that meet my eyes.
* * *
I feel the joy just like a boy,whose egos on the soar,
I realize a paradise I've never seen before.
Driving on, I'm not alone, I feel God's presence nigh;
as I ride the brim of rock and rim that peaks along the sky.
and many wonders of the land I view with humble pride;
Death Valley sand to Canyons Grand, out to the great divide!
* * *
The splender of the forest greens, the waterfalls in view;
the beauty of the loving things which makes a dream come true.
My final words, you must take heed and note this vital tip:
"Do not fly, and with due speed, take your auto on this trip!
