1947 Football Stadium22K, The first game wasn't played until 1 November and we lost to Munich 32-0, the first ever for Nurnburg High. Next, Frankfurt won 42-0 and we lost our quarterback Don Wilsie, he was kicked in the stomach while tackling Ned Pointier and it took him a year to recover from it. It wasn't until he was sent back to the states that he recovered. The final game with Heidelburg was our only win for the season 21-12.
1947-48 Basketball team22K, Berlin won the tournament in March. We finished last with a 1 and 13 record. The year before at Erlangen we had played only 4 games, Munich, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, and Heidelburg. I think we might have done a little better in 48, if Bamberg and Erlangan students were able to play. We weren't allowed to live in the dorm until baseball season so couldn't practice with the team and therefore didn't play. In the one game Erlangen played with Bamberg, Erlangen lost, however Bamberg beat Nurnberg.
1948 Baseball team16K, we started 12 GYA 4 with the German youth team, then beat Bremen 11-5 lost to the Army's 7810 SCU 6-9. Wiesbaden beat us 7-5 then Nurnberg M/P lost 15-3. Heidelberg was rained out and we beat Frankfurt 8-3. Much of our success was due to Dick Loss, a second coming of Bob Feller.

Most of the portholes on the port side broke and water poured down the passageways when a large wave hit us, broadside. One of the crew was nearly swept overboard. I still won't get on a ship under 750 feet long to this day.
