BRIEF SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE
I have over forty years experience in the computer industry, always at the leading
edge of technology. I focused on joining or forming small, innovative
teams and have enjoyed contributing to and leading such groups into large,
successful organizations. I contributed in all areas including
programming, design, documentation, management, marketing, financing, and
corporate planning. I had extensive experience in dealing with the highest levels
of the military, including the Secretary of the Air Force, Army Vice Chief
of Staff, and the Chief of Naval Operations.
I was fortunate to be involved in various aspects of the space program during my career (Apollo, Saturn S-!VB boosters, Space Detection and Tracking System, et al), and as a Principal Consultant and member of top management in Planning Research Corporation — a highly respected think tank — I was involved in many highly-classified projects involving the intelligence community (NSA, DIA, CIA, Army, etc.).
As Director of Software at Delphi Communications, I was a co-author of the patent for our system which was the first to digitize speech and use a DTMF (Touchtone®) phone to control a computer system. You will recognize the fallout of this today as Voice Mail and all of the side effects associated with it. Sorry, folks, I had to do it. I too sometimes regret it every time I try to get a human on the other end of the phone line.
My most recent consulting assignments include data-connectivity of Web Site forms, Web Page development, etc.
I began writing novels in 2000. I am currently working on a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow, and just published my second novel, Crown's Law, a private eye novel set in Orange County, California. First reviews from those who have read the manuscript are great! I am a member of the Private Eye Writers of America (PWA) and Sisters in Crime.
I attended the University of California at Berkeley (Mathematics, Astrophysics)
from 1947 to 1952, and did graduate studies in computer mathematics at San
Jose State in 1956-1957. I was in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. I was
an all-weather jet fighter-interceptor pilot and was a Flight Commander, test
pilot, and instructor pilot for F-94-Cs and F-89-Ds.
