2009 WRCC STAND-OFF SCALE RULES

SAFETY INSPECTIONS MAY BE PERFORMED AT ANY TIME

Purpose Provide racing competition for Stand-off Scale Formula 1 &
Military planes
Airplane

Stand-off scale models of fixed wing piston powered man carrying military fighter or bomber aircraft in production after January 1, 1937 or scale models of aircraft that raced in the unlimited, biplane or formula 1 category of the Reno Air Races.

Bottom of right wing to have contrasting 2 digit vertical racing numbers (8 inches high / 1.25 inches wide minimum) readable while plane is in left bank

Racing number to be registered with Mike Tallman
Engine Maximum 2-cycle engine displacement will be determined by dividing the wing area expressed in square inches by 1000.  4-cycle engine displacement will be 1.5 times the 2-cycle maximum. Any available muffler is required on all 2-cycle engines. All engines to have an operational carburetor capable of maintaining 4000 RPM or less.
Fuel Contestant supplied
Propeller Any commercially available wood or plastic non-continues filament propeller.
Race Procedure Per USRA Rules Except:

900’ between pylons
10 seconds added per cut
60 seconds added per gross cut (start and pylon)
60 seconds added per dead line violation

Zero points will be awarded in the event of a mid-air collision.

Zero points will be awarded to a pilot whose race time is less than one minute 30 seconds.
