Fourth
of July - No A/C in D.C. Rally
Green Valley Parkway & Sunset Avenue
Henderson, NV
July
4, 2007
On
July 4th in Las Vegas, a group of us gathered in near-record heat
to issue a call to the politicians in Washington: Turn off the air-conditioning
in Congress until the troops come home from Iraq. With temperatures
in Iraq actually exceeding those in Las Vegas, Nevada Workers Against
the War challenged the rhetoric of Congressional war supporters
who speak of patience, courage, and resolve. Would they be willing
to show solidarity with the troops by enduring a fraction of the
hardship they face? Would they agree to no A/C in D.C. until the
troops come home?
