Fifth
Anniversary of the Illegal U.S. Invasion of Iraq
Sidewalk in front of the Venetian Casino
Las Vegas, Nevada
March
22, 2007
Congratulations to everyone who helped make our "NO MORE ENDLESS WAR" action a success! The March 22nd patriotic protest was the first of its kind on the Las Vegas Strip in over five years, and drew a wide spectrum of participants. Departing from our past practice of protesting at federal offices, we marked the fifth anniversary of the war by marching in front of a Las Vegas casino whose owner has spent millions of dollars promoting war in the Middle East. With signs reading "No War on Iran" and "Support the Troops, End the War," we rejected the Bush administration's plans to attack Iran, and demanded an end to the senseless occupation of Iraq. A good description of the event can be found here, and the local newspaper report is reprinted here.
