LE PETIT CLUB FRANÇAIS

amitié, gaieté, simplicité

Hello! My name is Liliane. I am from France and I am the founder and president of a club in Phoenix, Arizona called "Le Petit Club Français." It is a club for French women, a social club, but most of all, a friendship club. It started in September 1997 with 4 ladies meeting to chat over a cup of coffee (excuse me... a glass of wine!).

We are now about 40 active members and we issue a news letter every month. Our club include an organizer, a treasurer, 2 assistants and an entertainer. The news letter has an editor and a photographer. We meet each month for lunch in a French restaurant of the valley. The club promotes a genuine friendship between fellow country-women. Most of us came in the 60's and 70's as G.I. brides.

"Le Petit Club Français" is meant to unite in friendship and solidarity. Our reunions are happy ones. We sing French songs, tell jokes and enjoy tremendously chatting in our native tongue among one another. We have a spring picnic, we celebrate the 14th of July (Bastille Day), and we also have a Christmas party. We plan to add more events in the future. Our club helps us all to cultivate our French heritage.
