"Do you believe in God?" asked the gunman as he pointed his weapon directly at her. She had no doubt of what he was capable of, her friends and classmates already lay dead and dying. Her reply was not long in coming. With courage and conviction she answered, "Yes." The gunman pulled the trigger. Cassie Bernall, 17 years old, was dead. Just a few years ago Cassie was a troubled teen, going downhill fast. Her parents were desperate. They put her in a Christian youth group. During a retreat, Cassie became a new person. She suddenly went from nearly suicidal to someone who had hope and purpose. She started her life over again. She had been given a second chance. It baffles the mind to even try to imagine what the students went through recently in Colorado. It's hard to imagine Cassie's courage who, at gunpoint, would not deny her faith. What did she know that, possibly, you don't? What did she have that, possibly, you don't? What did she learn at the retreat that turned here life around? Peace to you,
