Hate From the Generation of Peace and Love Seldom will you read a politically based editorial on the World Wide Christian Web but the level of hate exhibited in the US is unparalleled in history, it is also very telling of a small but vocal minority in America. The generation that gave us slogans like "live and let live" and "make love, not war" has declared war on President Bush and on morality itself. They readily claim to hate (they proudly use the word) the President and have sponsored movies and advertisements that are deliberately slanderous and without basis in fact. They claim that billionaires support the President in the upcoming election while at the same time they support a billionaire to take his place. The group of which I speak not only espouses hate and war, they support the reduction of freedom in America. They support laws making certain kinds of speech, like personal prayer in school by students, and certain kinds of actions, like the peaceful protest of abortion, illegal, while claiming they support personal freedom. They support the slaughter of millions of the most helpless of human beings -- the unborn -- while marching to save an endangered bug or a tree. During the cold war this group moaned and cried and did their best to surrender to the communists. They claimed we could not win the cold war, just as they claim we cannot win the war on terror now. Like the French, they trip over themselves attempting to wave a white flag at the first foreign threat that comes their way. These same people support giving schools more power over your children. They even aggressively try to teach their values to your children in school without telling you. They don't trust you to raise your own children. They want to teach your children that pre-martial sex, homosexuality and abortion are morally good, despite the incalculable destruction these things have wreaked upon peoples' lives. They want to teach that evangelical Christianity is evil while screaming "hate, hate, hate" from the rooftops. Who are these people? These people consider themselves "liberal" or even "moderate" and are predominantly part of the Democratic Party in the US. The problem is, the Democratic Party embraces them and encourages them at all levels. In fact, one of them, voted the most liberal member of the Senate, is John Kerry. Can we really afford to let these people take over the greatest country in the world? Is that what the founding fathers meant when they claimed we are one nation under God? What will their new slogan be? "One nation under hate?"
