Starting Your Own Christian Web Site on the Internet

NOW IT'S EASIER THAN EVER TO START YOUR OWN WEB SITE

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona --- Now it's easier than ever to start your own web site on the Internet's World Wide Web (WWW). You may not know this but many Internet Service Provider's (ISP) provide an area where customers can put web pages that are accessible to millions of WWW surfers instantly.

So if most people have the ability, why are so many not taking advantage of this great opportunity? There are probably lots of reasons but as Christians we have a very special motivation, even a command to "…go and make disciples of all nations…" (Matt 28:19-20) The Internet is a perfect way all Christians can fulfill that command.

Mark Harpt, President of the World Wide Christian Web (WWCW), an Internet site dedicated to fulfilling that command, remembers, "When I started on the net, it was real hard to build a web site of substance in any reasonable amount of time." He continues, "That's why, after spending four years building an information-rich web site, I am offering much of my content to other Christians for free." Part of his calling, according to Mr. Harpt, is to spread the Gospel to the world, even if that means giving away the materials necessary to do so.

Mr. Harpt goes on to explain the lack of willingness of some Christian organizations to share information on the Internet. "They seem to be protecting what God has given them as if that information was some sort of trade secret," he claims. "If you are a Christian and you want to defend and spread Christianity on the Internet, the WWCW will do everything in its power to help you," Mr. Harpt explains. That's where the "WWCW Freeweb" offer comes in.

The WWCW Freeweb is an instant, complete web site. All the web pages you need, to have a substantial web site of your own on the Internet, are included at no charge. You need only download the complete web site to your computer, make a few modifications, agree with the use clause (you agree to not profit monetarily from the site, etc. - see the index.html page for details) and upload those pages to the area your ISP set aside for your web pages. Your ISP can give you more information on where and how to upload web pages to the area they designate. It is recommended that you contact them and have a general knowledge of FTP before starting. The WWCW will try to help if you have any questions.

For more information on the WWCW Freeweb offer, please check with the World Wide Christian Web's Freeweb page at http://www.wwcw.org/freeweb.html or go to the World Wide Christian Web site at http://www.wwcw.org.

The World Wide Christian Web (http://www.wwcw.org) is an organization dedicated to spreading the Good News to the lost via the high-tech medium of the Internet. It also stands as a major resource for fellow Christians with Bible Q & A, Prayer Requests and other free information services.
