"Here are some other thoughts... The God of the Old Testament is clearly a God of love as well. This is evident by the variety found in creation as he fashioned a world for man... God's love is evident in His words, as he calls himself a God who is slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness and tender mercies (though He cannot leave the guilty go unpunished)... He told Jeremiah 'I have loved you with an everlasting love...' He showed love to Abraham and Sarah, giving them a child in their old age... He showed love to Israel delivering them out of Egypt... Of course, the ultimate display of God's love is in the sacrifice of His Son (Romans 5:8)..." |
