For those of you who are interested in the debate for/against the existence of God, you will certainly enjoy the Craig-Atkins Debate: What is the Evidence For/Against the Existence of God? sponsored by the Faith and Science Lecture Forum and presented in RealAudio over the Internet. Dr. William Lane Craig, for the affirmative, received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Birmingham (England) and his D.Theol. from the University of Munich (Germany). Dr. Peter W. Atkins, arguing against the affirmative, is currently Professor of Physical Chemistry at Lincoln College at Oxford, England. As a special treat, this debate was moderated by William F. Buckley Jr. If you have questions or would like to discuss certain points of the debate, please e-mail the WWCW. When listening to the debate, watch out for attempts to portray a belief in God and the Bible's accuracy as primitive and lazy. This is not a logical argument, it is simply brow-beating. There are a lot of other problems with Dr. Atkins arguments. Dr. Craig only pointed out a few of them. For more on this subject, check out Arguments for the Existence of God in the WWCW Q&A section. And when dealing with this subject, always remember in Psalm 14:1 it says, 'The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God.'" Of course, that doesn't mean all is lost. Many Christians were once fools but by the grace of God came to know God through his son, Jesus. As always, keep your (key)boards waxed and ready. Until next time - surf's up. M
