The Bible on the Web

The internet has come a long way from the days of simple text and graphics. With the increase in bandwidth available to home users, audio and video have reshaped the net landscape. Christian sites are not lagging behind.

Biblegateway.com hosts one of the oldest examples of communication, the Bible, in audio over the web. This is not your typical computer generated audio, this is often a professional voice rendering of different versions of the Good Book in different languages. Especially check out the reading of the NIV version of the Bible (Choose "New International Version" in the "Choose version" drop-down menu). Excellent.

There is one issue I have with this site. It includes a reading of the TNIV ("Todays" New International Version) Bible. It's a gender-neutral version of the Bible that the WWCW does not support or recommend.

Anyway, with the Bible in audio on the web what's next? Can the video of the actual events described in the Bible be far behind? :)
