Rufus Speaks! Not quite as newsworthy as the headline: "Garbo Speaks", but anyway, here it is. Rufus is our Congo African Grey Parrot. He will not talk while I am in the room. He’s just that way. But, when we are in another part of the house he loves to talk! Here’s what I did:
I have a set of portable phones in the house that can monitor other rooms. So, I called the room Rufus was in, and then put the phone up to the voice recorder in my cell phone.
(Thank you Sweetie for my new cell phone). If you listen closely, you might hear me giggle a few times, but Rufus does his fair share of laughing, barking, snapping his "fingers", hollering, and making various sound effects.
Too bad you can’t be here watching him listening to himself. (December 3, 2008)
