Zenith Zodiac 601 XL Builders

Mark, Sandra, and Ryan Thomas

This page is dedicated to the building of our Zenith Zodiac 601XL. We are long duration, first time builders nearing completion. As paint, inspection, and first flight approach, its sometimes easy to miss the bigger picture...

This is not an airplane.

It is the first rivet that Ryan pulled.
It is the immeasurable patience and support from an incredible wife.
It is the realization that "that hole doesn't go there."
It is Dad working into to any conversation, "my son is building a plane."
It is the countless conversations with future friends.
It is the countless recollections with old friends.
It is Kent taking me on inspiration flights in his 601XL and RV-8.
It is Mom positioning the installation point of the GPS.
It is the first conversation with Cameron over the intercom.
It is the trip to Mexico, MO when Kermit got sick.
It is the trip to Mexico, MO when Kermit didn't get sick.
It is the undertaking of a journey that is beyond all of your capacities, yet through determination, trial and error, and incredible amounts of peer support, it progresses beyond all of your dreams.

This is not an airplane. It is so much more...
