Canopy

Once again, the inside canopy hinge. A long hard road. The canopy is drilled to both tubes, and one side frame. It is very tricky to get the canopy to match the tubes AND the fuselage. Patience is king. The inside fairing. This is actualy flanged with a curve to its outside. Hammer and dolly required. Not as tough as it might sound though. Same part, not much better picture.
More misc canopy shots. Ditto. In case you are wondering, you can't see thru it becase it has two layers of protective plastic... Canopy release installed. Made a drill guide to ensure vertical position of pilot hole on outside flashing. I then used a step drill to drill the 7/8" hole... ...also, the step drill (which keeps you drilling normal to surface) back drilled the pilot hole on the inside flashing. I then removed the inside flashing, and finished drilling the hole in the inside and outside flashings separately... worked pretty good...
