Here you see the doubler clecoed to the upper horn with 3 #20s.
|
Top side of the elevator done! Well, to be honest, the skin doubler on the other side
of the horn is supposed to be #20s. I ran out fo clecos so for now they are #30. I
assure you that they will be #20s before any rivets are set!
|
Here you see the elevator in its near final shape (from bottom, standing on its front
flange). The rudder relief section has been cut out, but the recessed trim tab has
not yet been cut. See construction logs for why not.
|
Here is where you see the difference noted in the second picture. My trim tab is
recessed instead of hanging off the back of the elevator.
|
This shows the trim tab linkage as well as part of the access panel cutout. The
cutout for the linkage will be filed slightly larger than you see here for fine-tuning
the clearances.
|
Here it is!!! The closed (mostly) elevator! Isn't it beautiful?!?
|
Before you judge, you builders can't say that you don't do this too! Now where
did I put the rest of that airplane?!?
|
I just realized that I didn't have a photo of the complete horizontal and elevator.
Now I do.
