Engine Installation

Engine comes home, a 190 hour used Jabiru 3300. Me and Kent move it into position. The only engine stand I had that would work was bolted to the front of my plane. Quick, get the four bolts in before we drop it! Ha, you thought we would actually drop it?!? Give me a break...
Uh, Dad, you might want to fix this. Let me know if you want me to tell you how to do it right. The "other" business end. You can see the Bing carb, mags, distributors, and alternator. Partial battery install. Homemade "clearance" bracket to keep the throttle cable off the nose landing gear.
Mag switch wires. Single shielded wire. Switch connects conductor to shield. Shield is grounded beside the mag. Prep for first run. Note it is tied at the tail to our truck. Final installation will have a different oil cooler, and obviously cowling and a spinner. One of many "final" checks. Caught a loose bracket, but then missed the screwdriver on the following FOD walks. Luckily it just fell to the ground and caused no damage.
Hit on 4th blade and ran like a top!! Resolved squawk of CHT gauges mis-wired. On the probes, black goes to positive on the gauge, red to negative. I had it the other "usually" correct way. Awesome! Neighbors thought so too; it was a "community event" and as a bonus, no cops showed up.
