Installing the 5" Superlift

The hospital where the surgery
was performed
A lift really makes this job a
lot easier
Pull the front coils out and
let it hang
Remove the shock towers. They
won't be used
You can attach the limiting straps to
support the front end when you take
the control arms off
Will need to replace the pitman
arm. (Less than 20K mi. and the
lower seal in steering gear is leaking)
Here you can see the track bar
relocation bracket and and one of the
sway bar stand-offs
Replacing the upper and lower
control arms
The new radius arm in place New vs. old springs
(quite a difference!)
New spring in place With a shock
Old shock tower replaced with a plate The only welding on the project
The bump stops reinforced with a
couple gussets. A little black spray
paint to clean it up
Rear bump stop lowered with new
stand-off
New leaf springs for the rear Drilled a hole in the driver side
bump stop bracket and mounted the
brake line support to it
Drive shaft angle looked okay
(the 35's don't look bad either).
This is what it's all about

Note:On models with 2 piece driveshaft, you will need to put a spacer under the carriage to align the shafts better. In the case of a long bed and extended cab, 1.75" spacer is about right.
