Yeldnats Desktop Saver v1.0 ------------------------------------------ The Program: ------------------- This program addresses the issue of the desktop not loading the selected background image if it is stored on a Storage Card. This occurs when the device has been reset or the Storage Card has been removed. This program saves your bitmap image to the \Windows directory as YDesktop.bmp. It will overwrite this file if it already exists. Required Files: --------------------- YDesktop.vb Installation Directory Jornada.bmp Installation Directory Opened.bmp Installation Directory Closed.bmp Installation Directory MyHPC.bmp Installation Directory YDesktop.sav Installation Directory ReadMe.txt Installation Directory YDesktop.bmp \Windows Configuration: ------------------- You must set your desktop background image to \Windows\YDesktop.bmp. (Open 'Display Properties' as follows: 'Alt_Tap' your desktop and select 'Properties', 'Browse') YDesktop.sav contains default settings for Yeldnats Desktop Saver as follows: [Line 1] \Windows\iexplore.exe (To preview unsupported bitmaps) [Line 2] \My Documents (Default path for your bitmaps) This file can be altered within Yeldnats Desktop Saver or editted in a text editor (i.e., \Windows\pword.exe). Use: ------ Navigate the folder tree to open folders on your Handheld PC. Select desired file in list to preview and/or set the background image or to set the 'Preview Application'. Click 'Preview' to view the selected image in the 'Preview Application'. Click 'Set' to set the selected image as the desktop background image (you must toggle the 'Tile' option and click 'OK' in the desktop 'Display Properties' to successfully change the background image). Click 'Settings' to open the 'Default Settings' dialogue. These settings are stored in YDesktop.sav. First navigate to a folder containing the application you wish to use to preview unsupported bitmaps (bitmaps greater than 8-bit 256 color). Select the program (exe only) from the list. Then navigate to the folder you wish to open by default when Yeldnats Desktop Saver loads. Click 'OK'. Click 'Help' to view this file (ReadMe.txt). Click 'Quit' to exit the program. Known Bugs: ------------------- Program can not refresh the desktop background. This can be done by toggling the 'Tile image on background' checkbox in the 'Display Properties' dialogue.
