It was
suggested that village coordinators advise our readers to send copies of their
ancestral and family group charts to international headquarters in Lincoln.
At our
village night meeting I asked the Huck group what were some of the things they
would like published in the newsletters. Suggested items were pictures of
families, picture of the Huck church and school and genealogy charts. Does
anyone have a picture of the church in Huck? I inquired at international
Headquarters and with the help of Frances Amen who does the cataloging for
pictures, articles etc. we searched, but could not find a picture of the
church.
So, how about
those Huck Pictures!
A special
thanks to Lillian Bailey, of Portland, Oregon who at the convention gave me a
full sheet of postage stamps along with ancestral and family group charts on a
Huck family. Some of those stamps are on this mailing of "Die
Huckere".
Thanks also
to Marlene Michel of Calgary, Alberta, Canada for sending me the picture for
the front page. Since Marlene was not in that picture I used the above from my
prints. Marlene is standing in the back.
From several
sources I have learned that the census material and church books from the
village of Huck and Grimm cannot be found and are missing. So at this time I
would suggest that you wait before you order any material from Russia and hope
that soon these records will be found and available to us.
GOOD NEWS
Before the
end of the convention we knew that funds will be available for Rick Rye from
the AHSGR international office to return to Russia to continue his visits to
the different archives there.
