Here are some common definitions of terms I use in the website, or terms common in Wicca and witchcraft.
Air - energetically speaking, energy that is hot and dry, such as the summer breeze; energy that is enlightening, and related to such things as the mind, intellect, inspiration, learning, etc.; represents the God; situated in the east
Altar - a table, usually round, placed within the circle, on which spell supplies and other objects are placed for use during magick
Athame - knife-like tool used in consecration, cleansing, and circle casting; usually a sharp, double-edged blade.
Boline - knife-like tool used to cut herbs, spell components, etc.; usually a sharp, single-edged blade
Book of Shadows - a book that contains useful information for the magickal practitioner, such as exercises, spells, rituals, correspondences, beliefs, mythology, and/or a magickal diary
Cauldron - generally a black, iron, bowl-type tool with 3-4 legs and a handle, used to burn incense, hold spell components, water, etc.
Circle - a magickal barrier that separates the magickal working space from the physical, ethereal, and astral planes; separates the witch from the mundane world; protects the witch and the energy used in magick from undesirable forces or energies
Correspondences - magickal associations between physical objects or ideas with particular energies (such as the sun with the God, or water with the Goddess)

Earth - energetically speaking, energy that is cold and damp, such as the soil is; energy that is stable, and related to such things as fertility, the physical, money, etc.; represents the Goddess; situated in the north
Elements - representing the four basic properties of energy in the universe, namely air, fire, water, and earth; these are different in Asian traditions, but the four Greek elements are usually used
Equinox - One of two days in the year in which the length of the day is equal to the length of the night. This occurs in the spring (around March 21; Ostara) and the fall (around September 21; Mabon).
Esbat - Ritual performed on the Full Moon. Although any magick can be performed, it is common to perform The Great Rite or Drawing Down the Moon. It is generally thought that performing an esbat within three days before or after the actual full moon is acceptable. Esbats are centered on the Goddess, as she is associated with the Moon.
Familiar - a specific animal that one owns or interacts with that serves as a magickal partner
Fire - energetically speaking, energy that is hot and dry, such as fire itself is; energy that is unstable, and related to such things as the will, change, courage, etc.; represents the God; situated in the south
God - the incarnation of male energy, generally associated with air (east) and fire (south)
Goddess - the incarnation of female energy, generally associated with water (west) and earth (north)
Incense - material (such as powder, cones, or sticks) burned during magick to represent the element of air, add magick ambiance to the working, etc.
Magickal timing - spell and ritual timing related to the position of the stars and planets, the day and time of day, the season, the date, and the phase of the moon
Meditation - a form of concentration that slows the mind and body, either halting the mind altogether (passive meditation) or focusing attention on something specific, activating the mind to it (active meditation)
Power animal - an animal that serves as a spirit guide or messenger
Sabbat - One of the eight Wiccan holidays of the year (Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Midsummer, Lammas, Mabon, Samhain). Sabbats are primarily celebrations, although rituals are often performed. These days are centered on the God, and his relationship to the goddess, since they are celebrated with reference to the Sun.
Sacred space - the cleansed, charges space within the working circle
Solstice - One of two days in the year in which the amount of daylight is at its maximum (around June 21;Midsummer) or its minimum (around December 21; Yule).

Totem animal - an animal that we identify with and can learn from by studying their behavior and habitats
Visualization - a type of active meditation in which one focuses one's attention on a particular mental environment, and/or series of events
Water - energetically speaking, energy that is cold and damp, such as a crystal pool; energy that is flowing, and related to such things as emotion, the heart, love, etc.; represents the Goddess; situated in the west
