Disneyland & Disney California Adventure

May 2009

Luke, Mommy & Daddy spent 5 wonderful days exploring all the nooks & crannies of the Disneyland resorts. We stayed on-property (Paradise Pier) which allowed us to walk and wander for hours on end. David's parents (Gram & Grampa) were able to spend 2 1/2 of those days with us as well, which allowed Mommy & Daddy some much-needed space a couple of times during the early part of the trip - including an incredible date night at the Blue Bayou. It was a wonderful trip that will not soon be forgotten by any of us. Luke LOVED Disneyland and rode his first roller coaster (below) as well as later riding the Matterhorn! We have a dare-devil in our midst!

First stop - First evening... At Rainforest Cafe

Later in the trip, a PhotoPass Disney picture of us in front of the Disneyland Castle.

Even the *snacks* are Mickey themed...

Luke rode his first roller coaster in Toon Town... and scored the front seat. He *loved* it and rode it about 5 more times, alternating with Mom & Dad, in the next hour or so.

There are a couple of water-play areas in California Adventure of which Luke took advantage... while the rest of us just had to sweat. :) The weather was actually pretty great the whole time we were there, though.

Our Cars fanatic poses with Lightening McQueen... (and Mommy)
They are building a whole new Radiator Springs area in California Adventure for which we will definitely have to return! :)

Our hotel, the Paradise Pier, had a Hawaiian-theme character breakfast with Lilo and Stitch [and Daisy & Goofy]... Luke liked Lilo & Stitch quite a bit, and flirted with Daisy.

There's a Western area in California Adventure that's full of playground equipment, nets, climbing trees, climbing walls and the like... it's based on the Brother Bear movies. I love the picture with Luke & David at the entrance, and one of my favorites of me and Luke happens to be on the nets in the "mazes."

We went to 2 other character breakfasts - one in Disneyland with Minnie & Friends and one in California Adventure with the Princesses [let's face it, the Princesses were for Mommy!]. Here my small knight and I pose with Cinderella.

And once more with the Cars theme - Luke's embroidered "Mickey Mouse" ears are Lightening wheels and Cars themed. [You might also notice his clasped hands... he's done this since he was an infant... I think it's super cute!]
