Who is Bobbie Offen Technical Specialties?
I am a technical writer and website developer who has come into my current career through many paths. Along the technical road, I received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in chemistry from UCLA. My minors included math and physics. The education path included a secondary teaching credential (valid in all subjects) and I have taught at both the secondary and university levels. With an MA degree in Mathematics Instruction, I feel I have an excellent background in information presentation, a very necessary skill for both web design and technical documentation. Working on a computer is second nature to me. I am equally at home using a PC or a Macintosh, although I prefer the Mac if I have a choice. I am especially adept at learning newer and better ways to use the computer for high productivity. I have a wealth of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Adobe FrameMaker, PhotoShop, PageMaker and Persuasion; Claris FileMaker Pro; MacroMedia Freehand; EndNote Plus; and many other utilities and applications. In fact, I have never met an application that I couldn't learn; there were some I didn't like, but none that left me perplexed and ready to quit. I am an expert HTML coder. My web pages include many examples of complex tables, frames, submit (mail-in) forms, and graphic elements and designs. I can work with you to produce web pages that meet the needs of your company and that you will be proud to own. My technical writing skills span the gamut from documenting hardware procedures or software applications, to creating technical support documents, marketing collateral or training materials, and to formatting and designing newsletters.
