This web site features information pertaining to my current vehicles, a 2004 Toyota Matrix XR and a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. The Matrix replaced my 1997 Ford Escort which prematurely met its demise on September 11, 2004 when an inattentive driver totaled it. The Escort and system modifications are now commemorated in the 1997 Escort gallery. I will concentrate on two areas, stereo upgrades and performance modifications. The G8 has become my dailer driver, due to heavy performance modications in the Matrix.
My stereo bug started about two years after I started driving. I remember telling myself I would never be one of those inconsiderate bass-heads driving down the street. Boy I was mistaken! I think most young adults go through this phase in life. For me it started with a simple aftermarket cassette deck and rear speakers. The hobby quickly turned into a money-pit of an obession. You can reminisce about my past Ford Escort System or drool over my current Toyota Matrix System.
I never thought I would see the day where I was happy with my stereo system — again, I was mistaken. I replaced my obsession for sound with performance. Much like my audiophile obession, I didn't know what I wanted until I had it. I started off with simple bolt-on's which climaxed with a supercharger. Unfortunately, all the bolt-on's couldn't achieve my goal of 200whp.so I sold nearly all of my bolt-on's so that I could try a turbocharger. That adventure has proven to be quite the drama. You can read about it in the Matrix blog.
