Our 3 truck Shay is finally steaming!

Will running our 0-4-0 Camelback on our track. This locomotive was built from Mercer castings. Burns coal, bituminous or anthracite in that wide firebox.

This GE 44 tonner electric locomotive has four 1/2 hp permanent magnet motors, one per axle. Two deep-cycle RV batteries provide 24 volts to a homemade electronic motor controller. A radio control unit has been installed for remote operation, works great for the work train hauling ballast. Headlights are GE MR-11 20 watt halogen tracklight bulbs operating at 12 volts (available from Home Depot). They are bright!
