Nieton Nieton was the first land to openly rebel against Imperial domination. Rather far to the south, Nieton was sparred any naval attacks, due to its land-locked state. Instead, the lands Nieton were the scene of a number of engagements during the early and later part of the war. Fredrick Rengate is the leader of Nieton. Although he is not a native of the island, he adopted it as his own and helped lead its forces in the rebellion. Fredrick is an experienced warrior, who rules jointly with his spouse, Veronika. She is an enigma, a dark elf bard. Despite the racial prejudice, her actions have shown her people drow are not all evil. She is also the person in charge of the Nieton army. Nieton has three distinct regions. The first, covering the western part of the land, is a fairly sizable mountain and hill range. The eastern side of the land is plains and grasslands. In the north, a large forest extends into the land of Penta. Despite the large area of mountains, humans are in the definite majority on the island. Dwarves come in second, followed by the occasional elf. If humanoids were counted, goblins would be high on the population rolls. Since the races in the country got along for the most part, the island adopted a feudalistic form of government after gaining their freedom. Four cities dot the landscape of Nieton. Two of these cities are within the hills and mountains on the western side of the island. The other two cities are within the grassland's area. No cities exist within the forest, though rumors persist about a goblinoid city deep in the forest. Like Al-Rezaq focusing on one part of their military, Nieton focuses all of its resources, due to its land-locked state. The military has one of the highest reputations in the world. Orders of Knighthood are prevalent in Nieton, glory of victory on the battlefield being one of the highest honors of the people of Nieton.
