Road to Baguio |

This is the road to Baguio, considered the Summer Capital of the Philippines. It's almost 5000 ft. above sea level, so you can imagine that it was a lot cooler than the flat lands where Clark was located. And you can see what the drive was like - two lanes, very winding and sharp. But isn't the scenery gorgeous? In the summer of '72, there was record rain fall - 90 inches in one month! Hard to believe but true. And part of this road was washed out, no surprise. Note that someone's bike, or cyclo, is at the edge of the road. I can't even begin to imagine riding up those hills! |
