For all of you who are curious or all of you who simpily can't find anything more interesting to read, here's a bit about me...
The following is a quote from behindthename.com:
WILLIAM (m) "will helmet" from the Germanic elements wil "will, desire" and helm "helmet". The name was introduced to Britain by the Normans. It has belonged to several rulers of England, Prussia, and Germany, including William the Conqueror who was the first Norman king of England. Another famous bearer was William Tell, a legendary 14th-century hero from Switzerland. In the literary world it has been borne by dramatist William Shakespeare and poet William Blake, as well as contemporary authors William Faulkner and William S. Burroughs.
VIGGO (m) A short form of names containing the Scandinavian element vig "war".
If you're still wondering, no, Vigo is not my real name. My parents named me William but I go by Bill. What's all this about Vigo then? Well, way back when I logged on to my first BBS (ShoTron BBS, many moons ago) I had to pick a handle. Ghost Busters 2 happened to be on at the time. The bad dude in that movie is 'Viggo' And there you go, I have become "guy who desires a helmet in war." Which seems sensible enough to me... *grin* I never liked it when people changed their handle every two weeks. So, for better or worse, I'm keeping it, misspelled and everything... I share the name 'Vigo' with a seaport in Spain and a brand of Beans and Rice.
For those wondering what I look like; I stand about 6 feet tall, weigh 180 lbs, have long dark brown hair, brown eyes, beard, mustache, glasses, etc, etc... I have a picture up on the pictures page, have a look there for more detail.
I can sum up my favorite things with three words; Corvettes, Tigers, Rush.
I've been in love with Corvettes for about as long as I can remember. Everyone who loves 'vettes has their own favorite. Mine is the C3, the long curvy body style of the 70's and early 80's. My dream 'vette is an '80 or '81, two tone, gray over dark gray. Because of the state of the world in the early 80's, they're about the slowest 'vettes around, but they sure are purdy. :)
Tigers are another long standing love of mine. As far as animals go, I've always been more of a dog person. But there's no substitute for the power and beauty of a tiger. I have a small collection of tiger statues, as well as several pictures decorating my walls.
Rush... No, not the fat conservative guy, the other Rush; the Canadian rock trio. I'm a newbie as far as being a Rush fan goes. I first got hooked on them around the time of 'Counterparts.' Since then I've bought (begged, borrowed, or stole) all their albums (except the live stuff) and listen to them constantly. I went to both Test for Echo concerts they had in Phoenix and had a blast!
Of course there's more stuff to tell... I love to go camping, off roading, hiking, etc. I love to travel, or just GO (any ol' random place is fine with me.) I mess around on the computer quite a bit, programming, playing games, or whatever. Yadda, yadda, yadda... I could go on, but I don't want to bore you to death. (Yeah, I know, too late *G*) So, if you want to know more, just ask!
